BattleLightning.js
is a versatile, fully customizable battle lighting system for RPG Maker MZ. Enhance the visual atmosphere of your battles with dynamic light effects (while not conflicting with other light plugins) on actors and enemies alike.
Whether you’re looking for a warm, torch-like glow or a modern, subtle aura, this plugin has you covered!
Key Features
- Dynamic Glow Effects: Automatically add a glowing aura around battlers in battle. Customize the glow’s radius, color, and opacity with easy-to-adjust plugin parameters.
- Per-Battler Customization:
Override default settings on a per-battler basis using simple notetags. Just add a tag like:
<light: 180 #FFBF7F 0.7>
to any actor’s or enemy’s note box to give them a unique glow. - Pulsation and Flickering Effects: Simulate realistic, fire-like light with optional pulsating and flickering effects. Tweak the speed and intensity to match the mood of your game.
- Automatic Death Handling: Once a battler is defeated, its glow automatically turns off, keeping your battle visuals clear and in sync with gameplay.
- Night Overlay: Create a large “night” tint overlay behind your battlers when a designated switch is turned on. You can choose to have the overlay’s opacity derived from a set color or, optionally, from your game’s map tint.
- Community Lighting Integration: If you’re using the Community Lighting plugin, Battler Light/Glow will automatically read its tint settings—ensuring a seamless transition between your map and battle environments.
TOS:
This plugin is free to use for both commercial and private projects. Please credit Paradajz as the original author wherever the plugin is used.

Hi! Is possible can you help me to set it up the plugin on my project?
Hi, sure!
Do you use a day night system?
Or do you tint the maps by yourself? ( in this case just set the parameter "use map tint" to true and it should work.
Yes i use a day/night system
If you use a day night system then you should have a "switch" that turns on when it is night time.
just set the night switch Id from the parameters drop down menu to your night switch id.
Or you can just set this parameter (use map tint) to on/true it will then ignore the night switch and just use the current map tint the player comes from:
i hope that helps! :)
Works very good, a question is possible make actor/followers light on map?
No Sorry, this is for the battle scene only.
But there are some free plugins out there for this:
Community lightning mz for example.
